What is this project?
Future Rose Quarter development will realize the long-anticipated community vision of a pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use district that showcases leading edge sustainability practices, creates jobs, and is well integrated and connected with the surrounding neighborhood and adjacent Lloyd district. This process will result in the creation of a Rose Quarter District Plan and a determination on the future of Memorial Coliseum.

The 17th meeting of the Rose Quarter Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) was held on November 30th, 2011. The meeting celebrated the success of the SAC which has been at the center of a community conversation about the future of the Rose Quarter and Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Their efforts produced impressive results. Among their accomplishments are:
- Veterans Memorial Coliseum revitalization design is underway
- An exciting Rose Quarter District development concept is in place
- Ideas being considered for the 2035 N/NE Quadrant Plan and ODOT Interchange are fully coordinated with the vision for the Rose Quarter District
None of this would be happening if not for the SAC's hard work. Their diligence and adaptability was the linchpin in this unpredictable but successful process.

The UDG vision, created by the Veterans Focus Group, sets the tone for the guidelines:
Project Vision: Ensure Veterans Memorial Coliseum continues to serve the advancement of cultural opportunities of the community and be properly dedicated to the memory of our Veterans who made the supreme sacrifice to preserve for us the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
